  • Alfred “Al” Berghager, 43, of Hannibal, Mo., died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Holy Family Church in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. The James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
    Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mr. Berghager was born June 23, 1970, in Hannibal, to Bernard “Ben” and Marilyn Shy Berghager.
    He was married to Polly O’Haver on March 7, 1992, in Perry, Mo. She survives.
    Other survivors include his children, Levi Berghager and Olivia Berghager, both of Hannibal; his mother, Marilyn Berghager of Hannibal; his brother, Craig Berghager (Dawn) of Lathrop, Mo.; his sisters, Kimberly Bush of Hannibal and Alyssa Jines (fiancé Randy) of Vandalia, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
    Mr. Berghager worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation on the maintenance crew. He attended the Holy Family Church in Hannibal, Mo., and he proudly served as a life time member of the N.R.A. He enjoyed working in his shop, doing woodworking projects, and spending time outdoors.
    He adored and cherished his children and loved spending time with his family and many friends.  He had such a way of brightening everyone’s day with his remarkable smile. He was also known for his kind and loving demeanor, along with his witty sense of humor.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the N.R.A., or the Make A Wish Foundation, in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Rich Fowler, Dave Houchins, Scott Gollaher, Levi Berghager, Craig Berghager, Tim Long, Mark Stotler, and Simon Begley.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Wally Severs, Mike Berghager, Pete Fee, Earl Barnard, Monte Safford, Chad Williams, Joe Friday and Kyle Thomure.
