  • The city of Osage Beach, through a grant from the Department of Natural Resources in cooperation with the Lake Ozarks Solid Waste Management District, is planning to host a lake area white goods recycling event as a free public service.
During this two-week event Oct. 7-18, the public is invited to drop off the following items at the Osage Beach Public Works Facility:  Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, air conditioners, water heaters and dishwashers.  Freon will be reclaimed from refrigerators and air conditioners and all will be recycled for scrap metal.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will not be any weekend hours.
A large dumpster will be in place on the parking lot of the Public Works Facility at 5757 Chapel Drive.  White goods may be placed near this dumpster.  Because this event is restricted to white goods only, no other large items can be accepted.
Public Works employees will be on hand during those hours to assist with large items.
For more information, call the Department of Public Works at 302-2020.
