Andrew "Andy" Talley, 87, of New Athens, IL, formerly of Osage Beach, MO, born February 16, 1926 in Beaudry, Arkansas, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Mr. Talley proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a hospital administrator for 40 years, and he served most recently as such (before his retirement) at Lake Ozark General Hospital.
He was a Charter Member of Rotary International, a member of several community Chamber of Commerce clubs and was also a lay minister. He attended Harper Chapel in Osage Beach. Andy loved to play music, especially the fiddle. He spent many hours singing and playing gospel and old time music with family and friends.
Mr. Talley was preceded in death by his parents, William Asa and Carrie (Howerton) Talley; and his brothers and sisters, Walker, Raymond, Mildred, Millie, Marietta, William B., Jessie, Thomas, Rhoda E., Buster and Harry.
Andy is survived by his three daughters, Nancy (Dionicio Salazar) Talley of Memphis, TN; Anna (Steve) Mangin of Festus, MO; and Chris (Earl) Armstrong of New Athens, IL; three grandchildren, Helen, Zachary and Amanda; and one great grandchild, Jordan.
Visitation was held Monday, September 30, at the Marissa Presbyterian Church in Marissa, IL. Services were held immediately following visitation with Rev. James Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Talley Cemetery in Jessieville, Arkansas.
