Saturday, Sept. 28th

The 3rd annual Kirksville Bacon Fest will be on the court house lawn in downtown Kirksville.  The Bacon Fest will begin at 10 a.m.  Donate canned goods for the local food pantries  and  beginning at 11 a.m. get a free bacon lettuce and tomato sandwiches made with locally made Oscar Meyer Bacon and served by Kraft employees.   Cooking contest, Bacon Pagean, Health boothes,  children's games and entertainment will be from 10a.m.-2 p.m. For the whole schedule go to kirksvillechamber.com or call 660-665-3766.


Saturday, Sept. 28th

Kirksville Main Street Car Show  and Swap Meet will be at 200 N. Main Street in Kirksville in conjunction with the Kirksville Bacon Fest.  Registration is 8 a.m. -12 noon.  Awards are at 4 p.m.  The Car show is sponsored by the KDIC.  Call 660-216-9016 for more information.


Saturday, Sept. 28th

Round Barn Blues  will be at the historic Round barn on Route P in Kirksville beginning at 4 p.m.  B.B.King’s daughter, Claudette Robinson King will be the headlining act along with many other blues bands.   For more information call 660-665-2760.


Saturday, Sept. 28th

NEMO Mule Show will be at the NEMO Fair Grounds all day.  There will be 38 classes of mules competing. Proceeds will go to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, and to the Alex Baumgartner Fund.  Call 660-342-7803 for more information.


Thursday, October 3rd

The steering committee of Forest Lake Area Trail System (FLATS) invites the public and all the FLATS supporters to a Ground Breaking Ceremony at the Petroglyph Site at Thousand Hills State Park at 4 p.m.  Attendees may park in the beach parking lot.  Information at www.kvflats.org.
