The Camden County commission will soon set the county's tax levy. The levy will go to the public in a hearing set for Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.
The current property tax levy has two parts, general revenue and road and bridge. Each account generates 11 cents per $100 worth of accessed valuation.
According to County Clerk, Rowland Todd, he is recommending that the levy stay the same.
The final decision is up to the commissioners.
Commissioner Bev Thomas told Lake News that the levy has not changed since she took office.
The levy generated $1 million and 646,534.85 in the general revenue fund and $1 million and 648,574.02 in the road and bridge fund during 2011. For 2012, the general revenue generated $1 million and 737,508.53 and road and bridge generated $1 million 739,476.91.
