  • The Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary will host the 37th Annual Ball on Saturday, Oct. 5, at The Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark.
During the past 36 years, this event has raised nearly $2 million for Lake Regional Health System, benefitting the Cancer Center, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, the Emergency Department, the Family Birth Center, Surgery and more.
“The Auxiliary has a long history of supporting the hospital’s mission,” said Betty Coleman, Annual Ball co-chair and hospital volunteer. “Again this year our focus is to include the entire community in this annual celebration.”
According to Coleman, participants will experience a celebration of the Lake of the Ozarks arts community, including displays of local artwork; entertainment by “Squad Live,” a touring, eight-piece band; and cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in addition to a four-course meal.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing.
“We are fortunate to serve such a generous community,” says Travis Messer, Annual Ball co-chair and Lake Regional practice administrator. “The Ball is a great way for adults of all ages to enjoy great food and entertainment, while supporting quality health care.”
Dr. Kevin and Jeannie Byrne and Mary Lou and David Gamm will serve as honorary chair couples. Dr. Byrne, a gastroenterologist, is a member of the Lake Regional Health System Board of Directors; Mary Lou Gamm, RNC, is nurse manager of Lake Regional Family Birth Center.
“We feel honored to serve as co-chairs, and we are happy to support Lake Regional and its continuing dedication to providing top quality care,” Gamm said.
All proceeds from the 37th Annual Ball will help purchase the latest technology for detecting colon cancer. More than 2,000 Lake Regional patients benefit annually from colonoscopy exams, the most effective way to find and remove precancerous polyps. With help from supporters, the Lake Regional Outpatient Department will purchase four new state-of-the-art colonoscopes, ensuring this important screening exam is conveniently available to lake-area residents.
“Providing this screening procedure close to home is convenient for our patients and gives them peace of mind,” said Dr. Byrne, who often performs colonoscopies in Lake Regional’s Outpatient Services Department.
Sponsorship packages are available ranging from $500 to $10,000. All sponsors will receive preferred seating. For more information, contact Terri Hall at 573-348-8153. To learn more about the Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary, visit lakeregional.com/volunteers.
