After being shut out by the California Pintos last Friday in a 38-0 loss at home, the Eldon Mustangs will look to bounce back this week as they welcome in the Warsaw Wildcats. Warsaw, coming off of a 40-16 win over Versailles, looks to continue their unblemished 3-0 win-streak.
Eldon's offense stalled last week, with miscues and turnovers giving the larger and faster California Pintos the win. Defensively, the Mustangs have been good this season, which they'll need to continue against Warsaw, who has scored 40 points or more in each of their last three games.

Last Game: The Eldon Mustangs football team lost Friday's home conference game against California by a score of 38-0.
Players to Watch:
Zack Lemen, Sr. RB/LB: Lemen has continued to be an offensive weapon, managing to put up 47 yards rushing and 74 receiving in last week's loss to California. His ability to fight for extra yards and physical playing make him a handful for other teams.
Thomas Kriegshauser, Sr. TE/DL: Kriegshauser was the only other bright spot for the offense in the loss to California, as he reeled in three catches for 51 yards, dragging defenders along with him for big gains.
Justin Asher, Sr. OL/DL: Asher's performance for the Mustangs' defense put up big numbers, with six solo tackles to lead the team and the only sack for the Eldon defense. He also combined with sophomore Chris Lemen to tally up five tackles for losses between the two players.

Last Game : The Warsaw Wildcats football team won Friday's home conference game against Versailles by a score of 40-16.
Players to Watch:
QBs Jeremy Eierman and Michael Maybee combined for 210 yards passing, two touchdown passes and three touchdowns rushing Friday night in the Warsaw Wildcats' 40-16 win over Versailles in the Tri-County Conference football game, so stopping them through the air and ground will be the deciding factor for the game.
RB Austin Steenburgen is a quick weapon, rushing for 168 yards and 1 TD in Week 1. He can gash a defense for big gains.
Bailey Jelinek is a nice option to throw to, finishing the first game against Clinton with three receptions for 80 yards and a TD.
Eldon's Keys to Winning:
1. Slowing down this high-power offense will be the key. Averaging more than 40 points a game over their last three matches, Warsaw's offense is more than a handful for any defense, so Eldon's D is going to have to step up at all positions.
Page 2 of 2 - 2. Avoid the second half slump. The opposing offenses against Warsaw this season have all seen their offense struggle coming back after halftime against Warsaw, so the Mustangs will need to keep the same drive and momentum going in both halves of the game.
3. Learn from the mistakes of last week. A number of mistakes in the loss against California were made by lack of attention and focus, so playing smart is the key for Eldon's comeback this week. Playing physically is not a problem for the 'Stangs, so matching up mentally will be the focus for the team this week.
