The Lake West Pickleball Club recently held a tournament on the courts at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie.
Sixteen club members participated, playing seven games each. Finalists Bill Merino, Jerri Meyer, John Blosser and Ronnie Raines played for medals with Raines placing first, followed by John Blosser and Jerri Meyer.
The tournament was organized by member and chairwoman Jerri Meyer and included lunch and a gift bag.
The Lake West Pickleball Club was formed this past spring and now includes 31 members of varying abilities. New members are welcome, beginners or experts, and members are available to give free lessons to interested beginners.
Play is held each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning, weather permitting, at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Ozark Chapel on Main St. (Highway 5).
