The upset of the number one seed elevated the Lady Indians tennis team to second place in the 25th annual Osage tennis tournament.
Osage earned 10.5 points, while the champion Boonville team earned 15. Mexico garnered 9 points and Richland finished with 5.5
The Lady Indians' number one doubles team of sophomore Courtney Grasshoff and Kristina Ruck defeated the number two teams from Boonville and Mexico before squaring off against the number one team from Boonville.
Having never played together before, Ruck and Grasshoff found a groove with Ruck at the net and Grasshoff handling the back court. The team defeated Boonville 8-6, winning the doubles championship from the day.
In singles action, Osage senior Mandee Reahr reached the semifinals, defeating Richland's top player. Reahr would finish fourth on the day.
Junior Hannah Bashore, playing at Osage's top singles slot, fell in the first round, but battled back to win the consolation bracket, finishing in fifth.
The team headed to Mexico Monday and will face Fulton at home Tuesday.
