  • With approximately 300 new and returning volunteers already working in our school this year, Joi Dickemann, Camdenton R-III School District Coordinator of Volunteer Services, is excited about the community's commitment to the students of the district.
"Not a single day has gone by without the efforts of our volunteers making an impact in the classroom — helping our students with concepts taught in the class or assisting teachers with project readiness," Dickemann said. "Pencils, scissors, and glue are being put to use, and our ‘to do’ list grows each day."
Fall is the time to get Back-to-School with the Volunteers in Public Schools program, and our teachers and students are anxiously awaiting your assistance! The VIPS Program has veteran and new volunteers who give according to their availability, from several days a week to ½-hour increments quarterly.
“Every minute in our school benefits our students, whether you are here daily or monthly. Our Outstanding Adults Reading with Students (OARS) Program begins in October at Oak Ridge Intermediate and occurs four times a year involving ½ hour sessions. Volunteers make lasting relationships with their OARS Partner by reading together and sharing time," Dickemann said. "Call now for that opportunity. You will leave with a smile."
