The 44th annual Laurie Hillbilly Fair will be held at the Laurie Fairgrounds Sept. 13 and 14.

The 44th annual Laurie Hillbilly Fair will be held at the Laurie Fairgrounds Sept. 13 and 14. All weekend there will be fun things for the whole family including a parade and a carnival. The theme this year is “Hillbilly Sunshine for the 44th Time.”

There will be horseshoe pitching, a kiddie tractor pull, Li'l Mr. and Miss kids contest, bingo, Buck-a-Duck Races, King & Queen contest, cake walk, train rides, face painting, clowns, pony rides, and lots of entertainment.

The King and Queen selection will be held Sept. 13 on the main stage at 7:45 p.m. Vendors will open at 3 p.m. Friday.

Bands that will be performing include JC & the Outlaws, The Selle Brothers Band, Hambo Latham, Davie Ray & Richard, and The Sizzlers Band.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The route is on Highway 5 and will start at Central Bank, proceed north on Hwy. 5 to Fairgrounds Rd. then head to the entrance of the fairgrounds.

The karaoke contest will be run by Karaoke by Kelly. Age groups are 5-12, 13-17 and 18 & over. The contest will be from 4-7:30 p.m. on the main stage with sign-ups at the side of the main stage from 3-3:30 p.m. The cost to enter is $5 for ages 5-17 years and $10 for 18 and older.

A raffle for a chance at a $500 gift card to Walmart (first place) or $100 in cash (second place) will be held. Raffles will be drawn at 8 p.m. Saturday.

A special Armband Night for the carnival is Thursday Sept. 12 from 6-10 p.m. Cost is $15.

There is a $2 parking fee per carload. Handicap shuttle carts will be running all three days.

No pets are allowed on the fairgrounds.
