  • The public is invited to the Freedom Through Christ Ministries, Lighthouse Mission’s annual Lighthouse Festival 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Lighthouse Mission located at 20 Show Me Lane in Camdenton.
The free festival will offer live music, prizes, a kid’s bouncy house, and a dinner featuring perfectly smoked meats and all the fixings. Frappuccino and ice cream will also be provided for the enjoyment of attendees.
“This is a way for us to share and give back to the community we serve.” “This festival is also an opportunity for us to celebrate the ministries purchase of the property, and allow us to share our vision of growth which will enable the Lighthouse to expand our services and resources to the community” Jeff Hall, Program Director said.
The Lighthouse Mission helps men overcome drug and alcohol addiction in a Christian home environment and ministers to the whole person by providing physical, emotional and spiritual resources,” Hall said. “The men experience that making God real in every situation is not a series of religious activities, but a natural outflow of a loving relationship with their Creator.”
The program helps the men find balance in their lives by creating that safe home environment, providing practical resources, and limiting negative distractions that keep them from living a productive and balanced life. The Mission also helps them understand that taking full responsibility for past choices will help in making better future decisions.
The program dynamics allow men to define goals that assist them in the recovery process thereby helping them to transition back into society and become an asset to the community.
