  • MACKS CREEK - The Macks Creek Lady Pirates and the Weaubleau Lady Tigers combined for 32 runs, 34 hits, and 15 errors in their matchup on Monday night.  When the dust had settled, Macks Creek had come away with a 19-13 victory.

Weaubleau started in the first.  Katie Burkhart hit a ball to third that was overthrown at first, allowing her to move to second.  After a sacrifice bunt by Aubri Potter, Megan Pribil drove in Burkhart for a 1-0 lead.  Peyton Wood then singled to put runners at first and third.  After a pop out to short, Kyla Minica collected an RBI-single to push the advantage to 2-0.  Dakota Motley followed with a single, which plated Wood, while and error by the right fielder helped Minica to score and push the advantage to 4-0.  Motley was erased attempting to advance to second following the fourth run being scored.

Macks Creek responded with four of their own in the bottom of the inning.  Jaci Hix tripled to right and scored on a slow roller to third from Miriah Collins.  With one out and a runner at first, Morgan Mashburn hit a grounder to short, where they attempted to get the runner at second, when the ball was bobbled by the fielder.  Following a strike out, Sydnee Daugherty laced a double to right-center field, pushing in both Collins and Mashburn.  After stealing third, she herself would score when the pick off attempt scooted into left field to tie the score at four.

Weaubleau went 1-2-3 in the top of the second, while the Lady Pirates would plate two more runs.  Haley Linton singled but was erased on a fielder's choice by Micah Schmidt.  Schmidt would then also be out at second on a Jaci fielder's choice.    After stealing second, Collins would collect her second RBI of the night with a double.  Faith Manning would single to left and score Collins to give Macks Creek a 6-4 lead.

The Lady Tigers responded to the challenge of the Lady Pirates with four of their own in the third.  With one out, Pribil doubled.  She would score on a Wood double, who would then score on a Allissa Kilgore double.  Kilgore would come around to score when Minica's ground ball to second was misplayed and scooted into right field, allowing her to move to third on the play.  Motley would push her across with an RBI-ground out to short for an 8-6 Weaubleau lead.

The Lady Pirates battled back and sent 11 hitters to the plate in the third and scored six runs to take the lead for good.  Juli Hix led off with a ball to short, whose throw was dropped at first.  Daugherty would collect her second hit of the night, a single, just ahead of an Audrey Whalen sacrifice bunt to put runners at second and third.  Linton then doubled over the left fielders head to score both runners and tie the score at eight.  Schmidt would follow with a ball to third, which was misplayed, allowing Linton to move to third.  Jaci followed with a ball to left, which was dropped, and allowed Linton to score for a 9-8 lead.  After a Collins' fielder choice to second, which erased Jaci, Manning would single in Schmidt, and Mashburn would push Collins across with an RBI-single and promptly steal second.  Juli came up to bat and again reached on an error, this time by the shortstop, and Manning would score the sixth run of the frame.  Macks Creek now lead 12-8.
