  • Prep Roundup: Lady Lakers undefeated, Osage soccer picks up first win of season

    Camdenton picked up their sixth win of the season with a 14-7 win over Hillcrest on Thursday night. The Lady Lakers’ bats were once again on a roll, with 14 runs scored.
    Danielle Owens finished the night 4 for 4 at the plate, while Bailey Bilyeu hit 4 for 5 to score three runs. Kylee Compton went 2 for 2, and Erin Rasmussen finished 3 for 4.
    Kylee Compton started the game, playing for two innings, with Kelly Uthe finishing out the final five. The two pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts.
    The team is now 3-0 in their conference and 6-0 overall.
    The Lady Lakers have a tough week ahead of them, with a road game at Dixon on Monday, a home game vs. Richland on Tuesday and a road game at Joplin on Thursday before heading to Jefferson City to play in the Capital City Tournament over the weekend.
    The Osage Lady Indians picked up their third win of the season on Thursday night last week, traveling to Versailles to knock off the Lady Tigers with an 8-4 win. After two runs in the second and another two in the third, the Lady Indians continued tacking on runs until they led 8-0. The Lady Indians withstood the rally from the Lady Tigers to pick up the win. Taylor Good pitched the win, scattering five hits and striking out 15. From the batter's box, Good had three hits with two RBI. Osage had a total of twelve hits on the night, with Charity Nelson, Austin Dulle, Dani Puckett and Lea Hart all getting two hits.
    The JV had a nice game as well, defeating Versailles 12-4. The whole lineup joined in the hit parade as Osage collected 11 hits on the night. Dulle pitched the game, picking up her third win of the season.
    Osage is now 3-3 before their Monday night match at Eldon.
    Versailles is currently 0-2 before their Monday night game at Jamestown.
    After falling to Southern Boone in their first game of the season by a score of 10-2, and a two-game loss at the Tipton Tournament, the Lady Mustangs bounced back with a 5-1 win over California in last week’s Thursday night match. The Lady Mustangs currently hold a record of 1-3 before their Monday night match against Osage.
    The Lady Indians tennis team traveled to Boonville for a tournament this past weekend. In the round-robin format, Osage came in second behind a very deep Moberly team. The best result of the day for Osage was at the #3 doubles match represented by Jessi Smith and Adora Bax, who finished with a first place medal.

    The Osage boys' soccer got their first win of the season last week with a 3-2 win over Crocker. Senior Wyatt Whitman scored two goals with an assist from Connor Brenneman and Jordan King, while Jordan King also knocked in a goal with an assist from Shane Sabourin.
    The Osage Lady Indians picked up their first win against Stover last week, with scores of 26-24 and 25-23.
    Joselyn Nuckolls led the Varsity Indians with eight kills, followed by Izzy Morris with three. Senior Maddie Homan led the defense with five digs. Kenzie Depee and Taylor Hermann had three digs each. Depee and Vanessa Webber scored one ace each.
    In JV scoring, Kendall Miller led with five aces with Cassidy Culver close behind with three. Miller also led the JV with two kills fillowd by Culver, Ashley Green, Marianne Cisar and Kallie LaFrance with one apiece.
    Volleyball fell 0-2 to Blair Oaks on Thursday night, putting the team 1-1 on the season. The Lady Indians fell 25-19 in the first match and 25-13 in the second.
    Mackenzie Depee led the team with six digs on the night, while Isabel Morris led the squad with two kills.
    Versailles’ home opener proved to be a loss as the Lady Tigers hosted the Tipton Cardinals, who came out on top with scores of 22-21, 25-21 and 25-12. Tessa Edgar led the Lady Tigers with four kills and four blocks, while Lendie Nolting had five assists. Maddy Hibdon and Bethany Loganbill had seven service points each.
    Cross Country
    This past Saturday, the Osage cross country team ran in Jeff City at the Jim Marshall Cross Country Invitational. The boys placed 5th overall in the large school division. with Tristan Hensley finishing 10th and Matt Reid at 19th to medal for the Indians. In the girls race, Gabrielle Hill ran for a 15th place medal.
    This coming Saturday, both the high school and middle school cross country will be competing in the Linn Invitational.
