On September 5, 1987, in Peoria, Illinois, she was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Burke, who survives the home.

Second to the love she had for her family, Diana had a passion for animals. Early on, she was a professional dog groomer, handler, breeder, and a member of the American Kennel Club. As a former businesswoman she owned and operated the Clipp Joint Pet Grooming Salon which led to opening the Illinois Institute of Professional Pet Grooming, both located in Peoria, IL.  She was a pioneer in the field with her school being only the 2nd in existence in Illinois in the early 1990's.

Diana was a registered nurse and a certified orthopedic nursing specialist. She was a member of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses. She has worked at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO, Mineral Area Hospital in Park Hills, MO, and most recently at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.

She was a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in De Soto where she was active in United Methodist Women. After moving to the Lake of the Ozarks, she transferred her membership to the Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie.

Diana had a God-Given talent for botany and was a master gardener. She was creative, artistic and had an eye for interior design. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan. In her teenage years she competed in dance roller skating and swimming.  She thoroughly enjoyed watching all sports, especially if it involved her children or her St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her sons, Miles Bachler of Peoria, Illinois and Tyler Burke of Robinsonville, Mississippi; her daughter, Ashley Bachler of Peoria, Illinois; granddaughter, Ila Ruth Bachler of Peoria, Illinois; brother, Larry Brooks, Jr. of Peoria, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends.
