Nick Edelman has been appointed to the newly created position of public works director for the city of Osage Beach.
Edelman has been city engineer for Osage Beach since 2007, and will continue those duties in an expanded capacity also as public works director.
The city expects to hire an assistant city engineer early next year.
Former public works superintendent Rick King was fired by the city in July for incompetent or inefficient... performance of [his] duties. He had served the city for 19 years, the last 12 as public works superintendent.
Edelman began his employment with the city as a civil engineer on May 28, 2002, and was appointed to city engineer in 2007. He is a graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla and received his professional engineer training under the previous city engineer, John Ballard.
Edelman and his wife, Karena, have two children, Kaylee, 76, and Noah, 2.
