The Camdenton R-III School Board will again discuss the board's public participation policy.
Last month, the board discussed their current policy and possible changes to make to the current regulation. Susan Goldammer, attorney and Senior Director at the Missouri School Boards Association, was present and walked the board through public participation and what it can look like.
The board's current policy only allows the public to discuss items on the agenda. People who wish to speak can fill out an information card and speak during the public comment portion at the beginning of the meeting. If a resident wishes to be placed on the agenda, they must request to be placed on it at least a week in advance.
During last month's meeting, the board voted to table any discussion and asked Goldammer to draft potential policies for their approval.
During the board's regularly scheduled September meeting set for Monday, Sept. 9 at 5:30 p.m., the board will have a chance to review two possible policies.
Assistant Superintendent Roma France, will also present the board with information regarding school board email accounts. The potential accounts would allow for an additional avenue for the public to communicate with board members.
