It is a common practice for churches to offer numerous church services some traditional and some that cater to the needs of people struggling in today's society. The Community Christian Church in Camdenton is now offering an Encounter in addition to its other regularly scheduled services every Sunday.
"Encounter is an an expressive and engaging alternative worship experience where all are encouraged to bring questions, doubts, fears and messiness, to share in a conversation about God, Jesus, and Life. The Encounter is a family friendly way to connect with God in your own way," Associate Pastor Brad Edwards said.
If one were to enter the Family Life Center at Community Christian Church, one would find children playing, people sharing stories over coffee and cookies or even a group pick-up game. When 10:45 a.m. arrives, everyone gathers together for an encounter.
Chris Edwards describes the service as "a comfortable and safe place to deal with out doubts and fears and the messiness of life."
Others have called Encounter, indescribable, refreshing, fun, lively, spirit filled and energizing.
"I never want to miss as I always know something great will happen," Missy Jackson said.
Encounter is just another service in addition to the other two services the Community Christian Church already offer.
