  • Perfectly groomed greens and tree-lined fairways set in the Ozarks' rolling hills are just a part of the ultimate golf getaway at the second annual Golf Week held October 6-13.
Golf Week on the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail features four tournaments plus clinics with golf pros, demonstrations, contests and more, all focusing on the Lake's great golf.
The Lake of the Ozarks is one of the country's premier golf destinations, featuring challenging courses designed by golf greats. Golf Week allows golfers to play these spectacular courses and enjoy all the entertainment and activities the Lake has to offer, with money-saving discounts on some of the area's finest lodging.
"October is the best time to play golf at the Lake," said Paul Leahy, president of the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Council and director of golf at Tan-Tar-A Resort. "The temperature is just right and the fall foliage shows the beauty of the area. Even if people can't come for the whole week, they owe it to themselves to come enjoy at least a part of this wonderful week of activities for golf enthusiasts."
Golf Week begins with the Dogwood Hills Pro-Am tournament on Oct. 6 at Dogwood Hills in Osage Beach and ends with the YMCA Charity Scramble on Oct. 13 at Old Kinderhook Golf Resort in Camdenton. Sandwiched between these two tournaments are the Bogeys and Beer Charity Tournament, played on The Oaks at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach on Oct. 8, and the main attraction of the week - the Golf Week Two-Person, Two-Course Scramble.
The scramble opens on Oct. 11 with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start on the River/ Mountain course at Osage National Golf Resort in Lake Ozark. The original 18 holes of this resort's 27 total holes were designed by Arnold Palmer. The course has the feeling of being carved into the bluffs of the Ozark Hills and is surrounded by lakes and forests. Osage National has hosted a number of prestigious professional and amateur tournaments since it opened in 1992.
On Oct. 12, day two of the scramble begins with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start on The Oaks course at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach. Breathtaking elevation changes and scenic views of the Lake of the Ozarks are highlights of this course, designed by world-renowned course architects Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge. Golfers of all skill levels enjoy the course's Bermuda and Zoysia grass fairways and undulating bentgrass greens.
The Golf Week Scramble is limited to 288 players, so players should make early reservations. The tournament offers teams a great golf value — two rounds of golf on premier courses for $150 per team if participants book a minimum two-night stay at one of the Golf Trail's participating lodging properties, or $200 per team without lodging. A list of qualifying lodging properties is available at www.GolfingMissouri.com/Accommodations. In addition to golf, the entry fee includes light refreshments after play; pro shop prizes; hole-in-one contests and hole prizes for the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin at both courses; and a scenic Lake cruise on the Tropic Island luxury motor yacht on Thursday, Oct. 10. Full details and a tournament registration form can be found at www.GolfWeekOnTheTrail.com.

    • Master Club Fitter Irl Robinson will offer free driver analyses on Monday, Oct. 7 and Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Birdies and Tees Discount Golf Shop, at the Osage Beach Premium Outlets.
    • Old Kinderhook will host a free short-game clinic by PGA pros, a golf skills challenge and a free trunk show and demo day with major golf manufacturers, all on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
        • Throughout the week, four of the Golf Trail's Osage Beach courses - Bear Creek Valley Golf Club, Sycamore Creek Golf Club and the Hidden Lakes and The Oaks courses at Tan-Tar-A - will be hosting daily closest-to-the-pin contests.
    • Many of the courses and lodging facilities along the Golf Trail will be offering reduced rates on Stay & Play Packages of golf and lodging throughout the week as well.
