The Ivy Bend area of Morgan County will be celebrating its 20th Annual Ivy Bend Fest Sept. 6 & 7 with the theme TV Game Shows-Then and Now.
On Friday, activities will be located at the Ivy Bend Fire Department, 33523 Ivy Bend Rd.
The beer tent will be open from 6-10 p.m. In the main tent, the entertainment is "Helen Russell & Company" formerly of Ozark Opry. They will play from 7-10 p.m. and are sponsored by The Bank of Versailles. Keeping with the theme of the fest, there will be adult games with cash and prizes awarded during the intermissions.
Saturday begins with breakfast at the Ivy Bend Youth and Community Center, 4039 Sawmill Rd., which is behind the fire department.The menu includes biscuits and gravy or sausage biscuit, scrambled eggs, hash browns, coffee and juice for $5.
The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and will pass in front of the fire department.
After the parade goes by, the food, craft and informational booths and beer tent and main tent will open. The main tent is sponsored by Ozark Chapel in Laurie.
Kids games will also start at this time. All outside kids games are free with prizes. A giant bounce house for the kids is being sponsored by Sherry Nielsen from State Farm Insurance.
The Youth Center will also have a cake walk.
At 10 a.m., the cookies for the contest, which will have cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, will be judged at the Youth Center and the parade winners will be announced under the main tent.
Attendance prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Tickets will be available to purchase for a food basket and several items for a drawing.
From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the main tent will be "Karaoke with Don Holmes" on the main stage. At 2 p.m. Judy Jo Hutchinson will run an auction for the festival. There are two 32" flat screen TVs, an Amazon Kindle, a Samsung Smart digital camera, a wine rack and a hunters ground blind.
After the auction, the King, Queen, Princess, citizen of the year and cookie contest winners will be announced. Immediately following, they will announce the winners of the drawing and food basket.
