  • The Lady Indians tennis teams played their first home match against a competitive Richland team Sept. 1.
Osage jumped to a 3-0 lead after doubles action, but the Lady Indians found the Richland squad more than ready to play in the singles matches.
Each match in singles proved to be a tough battle, but the toughest fight proved to be the match between the number fours. Senior Mandee Reahr played strong from the start, but Richland's player proved to be the victor after the lead changed hands multiple times and was forced into a tie-breaker at 8-8. Reahr took a 6-4 lead, but her opponent bounced back to win the match 8-6.
The Lady Indians took the win over Richland with an 8-1 finish.

The Lady Lakers' tennis team started off the season strong with a 6-3 win in their season opener at Hillcrest Aug. 29. Junior number one player Finessa Rassell led the team in the singles match, making short work of Hillcrest's Katelyn Choate with an 8-1 win. Senior Kiana Wood knocked off Brianna Bell with an 8-2 win, and the combination of Rassel and Wood proved to be too much for the Choate/Bell team in the doubles match, winning 8-2.
The Lady Lakers' next matches came on Tuesday, Sept. 3 as the team traveled to Springfield to take on Glendale and Joplin. Glendale's squad proved to be too much for the Lady Lakers, winning 9-0.
Against Joplin, Rassel and senior Maria Martin picked up the only singles wins for the Lady Lakers, while the doubles team of senior Grace Bommel and junior Janelle Blackwell won the only doubles match for Camdenton.
