In the last 100 years, there are thousands of things man has done to make every American enjoy a better life and to prosper in their day to day lives. Here are just a few:
Man took an incandescent light bulb and refined it, made it smaller, brighter and last longer with the latest being LED. Computers as big as a house reduced to the palm of your hand at a fraction of the cost providing you the world at your fingertips. As well as advancements in communication all rolled into one.
Automobiles are smaller, more powerful, and in many cases, more fuel efficient.
All of these advancements came from changing, adjusting, and sacrificing along the way to make the world a better place.
Now, what hasn’t changed in the last 100 years?
The way we tax.
The way we fund our schools.
The way we run our state government.
Ben Franklin was quoted “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”. That is how our state has been operating. Finally changes for growth and prosperity for every Missourian are now under way.
HB253 is the beginning of making important changes to move our state forward.
There are many opinions out there, but when the dust settles, I want to share some truths with you.
This bill will more than likely not pass in the veto session.
While I am writing this, the house leaders are improving the bill, redrafting it and making it better for all. This will be the first item on the next session.
What does that mean?
That means whether you support this bill or not, it will pass during the next legislative session, and this will be a fresh approach on bringing jobs and businesses back to Missouri.
Because of these adjustments, the groups that don’t support this bill cannot take credit for a victory. Don’t be worried, and don’t let the scare tactics get to you.
The typos have been fixed and your prescription drugs will not be taxed.
Kansas, Oklahoma, and other surrounding states have been very competitive in taking jobs from Missouri by cutting taxes, adapting, and changing the way they choose to grow their states.
The numbers are in and they are winning.
This bill will bring more businesses and more jobs back to Missouri.
With more growth comes more revenue to fund the programs that are so vital to every Missourian.
Remember that you know how to spend your tax dollars better than the government does.
