The 8th Annual Crossroads Cruisers Car Show was on Saturday, August 24 at the Macon County Park. And according to car show committee member James Blackston, the event was a success.
"It seems to be growing each year," said Blackston. "Everyone really seemed to enjoy the show."
There were 115 car entries and approximately 500 attendees.
"We were definitely pleased with the overall turnout," said Chairman Jack Hearrold. "We had cars from Kansas, Iowa, Illinois and of course from all over Missouri."
But there is more to the event than just cars. According to Blackston, all of the funds from the event go toward a good cause.
"We give a scholarship to an Automotive Votech student," said Blackston. "We also give funds to the Randy Johnson Memorial fund, Susan B. Komen group, Alzheimer's and the local Emergency Food Pantry."
Guests were also encouraged to bring non-perishable items that all go toward the local Emergency Food Pantry.
"We got several cases of food for the pantry," said Blackston. "If you missed the event, you really missed out on a lot of great things."
