A Chillicothe, Mo. man is dead after a head-on personal watercraft collision on the Lake of the Ozarks.
A Chillicothe, Mo. man is dead after a head-on personal watercraft collision on the Lake of the Ozarks. Blake Briner, 22, was driving a 1995 Bombardier near the 19 mile marker of the main channel of the Lake of the Ozarks when he made a 180 degree turn. Brett Keith, 28, also of Chillicothe, Mo., struck the front of Briner's PWC after Briner turned unexpectedly. Keith was following Briner downstream, driving a 2001 Bombardier. The incident occurred at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. Keith was arrested and charged with Boating While Intoxicated. He was taken to the Camden County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both men were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident. Camden County Medical Examiner Dee Ballard pronounced Briner dead shortly after 4:30 p.m. at Lake Regional Hospital. This is Troop F's first fatality in August.
