  • Norma Louise Kennon, age 89, of Gravois Mills, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013, at Columbia Health Care Center in Columbia, Missouri.  She was born June 1, 1924, in Seneca, Kansas, a daughter of the late Claude and Ada Gaston Rucker.
     On December 31, 1943, in Seneca, she was united in marriage to Clifford Lester Kennon, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2013.
     Norma enjoyed bowling on various leagues, was an avid card player, and a member of the Tuesday Bridge Club in Laurie.
     She was a member of the West Lake Christian Church in Laurie.  For over 40 years, Norma was a member of J and J Trail Rides on the Big Piney River.
     She is survived by her son, William Kennon and wife Maureen of Delray Beach, Florida; daughters, Susan Brancamp and husband Vern of Gravois Mills, Missouri and Diana Brady and husband Larry of Columbia, Missouri; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Virginia Moore of Topeka, Kansas; sister-in-law, Sam Rucker of Topeka, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24th, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.  Graveside services and interment will follow in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery in Laurie.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Central Missouri Honor Flight, 1400 Forum Blvd. Ste. 38, Columbia, Missouri 65203.  Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
