  • On behalf of Harper Chapel UMC, Miss Fitz Event Chair Victoria Hubbell presented Hope House with a check representing a successful Miss Fitz Shopping Extravaganza.  On that day, Harper Chapel hosted 300 members of the community to a plethora of fabulous finds, all at rummage sale prices.  All of the items had been carefully gone over by members of the Church to be sure they were clean and in working order.  In addition, visitors were given donuts and coffee, and a homemade lunch for a reasonable fee of $4.50.  One of the big hits of the event was seeing Harper Chapel members in various Miss Fitz flowered hats.
Miss Fitz also had a drawing that day for a $50 gift card, which had been donated.  The winner was Shawna Batty.
Aside from a generally fun-filled event, the day produced $1,300, which will aid the following community services in various ways:

    Boys Scouts of Osage Beach
    Shining Stars Preschool
    Harper Chapel Community Garden
    Quality Industries Sheltered Workshop
Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon of the Lake Area
    Hope House
Harper Chapel Latchkey After School Program and Summer Camp

The 2nd Annual Miss Fitz Shopping Extravaganza is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2014.  For more information about the activities at Harper Chapel, please call the Church Office at 573-348-2617.
