  • After another night of heavy rain, Ameren officials and Bagnell Dam plant engineer have decided to open the Bagnell Dam flood gates to relieve the water level in the Lake of the Ozarks.
The flood gates were opened shortly after 10 a.m. The Osage River is expected to rise several feet as water from the lake is released into the river. If you live on the Osage River, officials are asking you to move to higher ground immediately.
Another 4 to 5 inches of rain fell overnight, with the heaviest precipitation centered in Miller and eastern Camden Counties. This comes after torrential rain soaked the area Tuesday morning, washing out low-water crossings and causing damage in the Linn Creek area.
