  • The Sunrise Beach Little Theatre's Fall Dinner Theatre production will be "The Red Velvet Cake War" written by three of America's most popular playwrights - Jones, Hope and Wooten.
Open auditions will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 at the Sunrise Beach Community Center on Highway 5 in Sunrise Beach.
"The Red Velvet Cake War" will be directed by Don Reed. In this a riotously funny Southern-fried comedy, the three Verdeen cousins – Gaynelle, Peaches and Jimmie Wyvette - could not have picked a worst time to hold their family reunion.
A minimum three men and seven women actors will be casted in this production which will run Thursday-Saturday nights, Oct. 24-26 with the possibility of one additional performance earlier that week.
Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 6:30 p.m. Auditions are open to anyone interested in trying out. No previous experience or knowledge of the play is necessary.
Those who are not interested in being on stage will find many opportunities for involvement. Sunrise Beach Little Theatre is always looking for volunteers to work backstage, build sets, work in the kitchen and take tickets.
For more information, call Don Reed at 573-392-6410 or email him at dreed002@charter.net.
