Devoted wife and mother
Melba Claiborn Brown, age 82, of Montreal, Missouri, departed this life Saturday, August 3, 2013 at her home in Montreal.
Melba was born May 12, 1931 in Dalhart, Missouri, the daughter of Wayne and Sharlet (Reynolds) Stutsman.
Melba was united in marriage on October 3, 1947 to Joseph (J.E.) Claiborn who preceded her in death on February 23, 1966. She later married J.M. Brown in 1993, who also preceded her in death in 2012.
Melba had worked at Camden County Bank for several years and later worked for Wal-Mart, retiring after having worked there for 12 years. She also raised turkeys and enjoyed being a homemaker for some time.
Melba was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who created many special memories for her family and friends.
Melba is survived by one son, Mike Claiborn of Montreal, Missouri; two daughters, Sandra Fry and Kelley McDaniel and husband, Terry, all of Montreal, Missouri; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Sharlet Stutsman and husbands Joseph (J.E.) Claiborn and J.M. Brown.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lebanon City Cemetery in Lebanon, Missouri.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Compassus.
