The Warriors baseball team is at it again. The traveling baseball team, made up of boys from the Lake of the Ozarks, is a 14 and under baseball team. And with several of the boys having played together since they were 8 years old, it makes sense that their chemistry would give them an edge in the game.
This spring, the Warriors took first in a tournament in Buffalo.
Earlier this summer, the boys took second place at the Champion Diamond Tournament in Nevada with a loss in the championship to the Sedalia Bandits after being seeded second after pool play.
The team played in a dozen tournaments this season including Osage Beach, Lebanon, Nevada, Springfield area, St. Louis, Kansas City before closing out their season with the Show-Me-State games in Columbia.
This past weekend, the team took bronze at the Show Me State Games.
In pool play, they played on Friday night against the St. Louis Legends, from which they emerged the victors with a 10-0 shutout. They returned to action on Saturday, where they pitched another shutout, a 9-0 win over the Midwest Scorpions. Their last pool play game was a nail biter against the Salem Tigers, where the team received their first loss in a 5-7 game.
The Warriors got the wildcard in the division and went on Sunday to play in the finals. The first bracket game was against the Mid MO Stealers, but the Warriors couldn't hang in, falling in a close 9-7 loss. The boys rallied in the third-place game against the Memphis Stixxs, defeating them 9-5.
The team would like to thank all its sponsors from the past years who have supported them in their tournaments.
