The first day of school is right around the corner and many students are going to physicals and preparing to start school sports practices. Lake Regional Health Systems is gearing up to host Trim Kids, a program which offers a practical approach to weight loss and healthy living.
About the program
Trained health care professionals lead the nine week program that teach the basics of nutrition, exercise and behavior modification components including self-esteem building and stress management.
Lake Regional believes that parental involvement is necessary for achieving the program's goals. At least one parent or legal guardian is required to attend each session with their child. They are also expected to implement the principals presented in the class including shopping and cooking healthy foods, participating in their child's exercise program and helping their child meet their goals.
