  • Boy Scout Troop 232 is pleased to announce the recent Eagle Court of Honor for Casey White and Kyler Moore to officially award the rank of Eagle Scout by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Casey earned his Eagle rank December 10, 2012 and Kyler earned his Eagle rank January 18, 2013. To recognize this outstanding accomplishment, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor was convened on July 21, 2013 at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church. Boy Scout Troop 232 is chartered by Harper Chapel United Methodist Church Men’s Club, Osage Beach.
Starting as a six-year-old Tiger Cubs in Laurie as members of Pack 38, these scouts’ first experience in scouting was the beginning of 12 years filled with campouts, hiking, High Adventure trips, and development of an appreciation and respect for the environment.  While only two percent of all boys who enter scouting achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Casey and Kyler join an impressive group of individuals who are also Eagle Scouts: former President Gerald Ford, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, astronaut James Lovell, and director Steven Spielberg.
Harper Chapel UMC established a Community Garden in 2011 with several plots dedicated to local food pantries so that others in the community can enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables. For their Eagle Scout projects, Casey built a garden storage shed for Harper Chapel Community Garden. Kyler later added an access ramp and decking to the building.
Each of these young men has contributed more than 500 hours of community service throughout their Scouting endeavours. Over the past dozen years, the two boys have camped over 150 nights. Casey has been an Aquatics Instructor at Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation for three years.
Casey White is an IB Senior at Camdenton High School. He is a member of National Honor Society, the Pride of the Lake Band, Jazz Band, Math Club, Trap Club, Key Club and is a Freshman Mentor. Casey is the son of Bob and Denise White.
Kyler Moore is a recent IB graduate of Camdenton High School. He was a member of National Honor Society, the Laker Soccer Team, FCCLA, FCA, A+ Student and Freshman Mentor. Kyler will attend Southwest Baptist University this fall. Kyler is the son of Deania Moore.
