I have always liked kids. After once, I was just a kid just like you were. Some people look at them as being a pain in the rear or an interruption in their life that is full of private agendas. Often times, this is a symptom of lives filled with personal problems that people inherit from parent to parent and is passed on.
My view of looking at a kid is this: They are what we will make them. If you want kids filled with anger and rejection simple: take yours our on them just like your old man did on you and his on him.
If you want kids filled with lying, cheating and deception the, fill your lives with that right in front of them, they'll pick up on it. Just like your parents did.
If you want kids that will love and have respect in their lives, then you have to get that rooted and embedded into your life and then spend your life instilling it into them.
This that I have named above is the set of values and qualities that I have chosen to spend the rest of my life trying to instill into the lives of the children and their parents that I encounter in my daily life. It is my hope that others, moms, dads, grandparents and kids will catch this vision that I have and let it come alive in them and then pass it on.
I end this with an ancient Chinese proverb: "If a man has a good deed done unto him he must go and help ten others and so on so that good deeds shall spread out like the ripples of a pond."
