It's time for the Miller County Fair. All the fun kicks off Tuesday night with a parade in Eldon.

It's time for the Miller County Fair. All the fun kicks off Tuesday night with a parade in Eldon. Carnival rides are in town at the Miller County fairgrounds for the rest of the week for kids of all ages to enjoy. Lake area residents can enjoy live music, livestock shows, pageants, truck and tractor pulls and other events being held all week.

The fair begins on July 23 and continues through July 27.


The parade

Kick off the Miller County Fair by attending the annual parade Tuesday evening at 6:15 p.m. The parade will start at the South Elementary School and continue downtown finishing back at where it started. See local 4-H groups, community floats, vintage cars, horse-drawn wagons, and much more. This year's theme is "Blue Jeans and Country Dreams."

Compact Figure 8 Challenge

Join the crowd on Tuesday night for some rough and tough action. For more information contact Gary Jones at 573-289-1236.


Ready to ride? The carnival will be open Tuesday through Saturday evenings. Armbands are available each night for $15 for access to unlimited rides from 6-10:30 p.m.

Little Royalty Contest

The Little Mr. & Miss and the Prince and Princess will be selected on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the EHS Fine Arts Auditorium. Children from Miller and the adjoining counties between the ages of three and six will be competing for the titles.


The Miss Miller County and Miss Miller County Teen Scholarship pageants will kick off on Monday night at 7 p.m. for the talent portion. It will take place at the EHS Fine Arts Building. The pageant will conclude on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. with formal evening wear, also to be held at the EHS Fine Arts Building. Contestants for the Miss Teen Miller County contest should be between the ages of 13 and 16. Contestants for the Miss Miller County Queen should be between the ages of 17 and 22. Youth Livestock Shows

Join area youth as they compete in the Bottle Calf, Goat, and Sheep Shows on July 23. The Hog Show will be on Wednesday July 24 and the Beef Show will be on July 25.  Friday will be the final day with the Rabbit and Poultry Shows and the livestock auction.

4-H/FFA Exhibits

Items created by local 4-H and FFA members will be on display during the week of the fair.

Truck & Tractor Pulls

A Garden & Lawn Tractor Pull will be held Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Sleeper Lawn Tractor Pullers Association. For information, call Joe Prater at 573-434-1014.

Thursday the Sanctioned Truck & Tractor Pull is sponsored by the Mid Missouri Truck & Tractor Pullers Association. Friday night will feature a stock Truck and Tractor Pull, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Demolition Derby

The final night of the fair will have the Demolition Derby starting at 7 p.m.

Lion's Club & 4-H Concessions

The Lion's Club or 4-H concessions stands will offer a pork dinner, 1/4 lb. hamburgers, bratwursts, hot dogs, pizza, Frito Lay snacks, a cool soft drink or bottle of water and much more.
