Lake Ozark Helicopters will once again release thousands of rubber ducks into the river and the race is on. The fifth annual Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop will be held August 3 in Lake Ozark. New this year, the Duck Drop Golf Tournament will be August 2 at The Cove Golf Course.
Registration is August 2 at 7 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. It is a four-person scramble. Entry fee is $125 per person and includes 10 Duck Drop tickets, breakfast at The Cove, admission to the awards party at Lazy Gators and a goody bag.
On August 3, the day will begin with a 5K Run and Waddle Walk. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. Early registration fee is $20, or $25 after July 26. Children under 12 are free. Each entry will receive an event T-shirt.
Family Fun Zone
The Family Fun Zone opens at 10 a.m., located below the dam. It will have games and prizes, Clydesdale rides, bounce houses, face painting, dance demonstrations, a live DJ and food.
The Annual Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop is a fund raiser for the Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast. Tickets to “adopt” individually-numbered rubber ducks cost $5 each. Ducks are dropped from a helicopter and from pontoon boats in the Osage River below the Dam and then they race to a finish line.
The ducks are dropped into the river at noon. On August 3 ticket sales will end at 11 a.m. You do not need to be present to win.
Twelve prizes are awarded with the winning duck ticket holder receiving $5,000 cash. Other prizes range from $1,000 cash, shopping cards to Hy-Vee, Paul’s Supermarket, and other gift certificates.
All the money raised from the event benefits the Ozark Coast Kiwanis Club and helps local children in need throughout the Lake area.
