The Tanel/Selander 13U girls softball team traveled to Kansas City this past weekend to play in the Missouri/Kansas state tournament.
After battling their way through the tournament, the gals faced off as the number one Missouri team against the number one Kansas team in the championship match, which the Tanel/Selander girls won.
The girls now advance to the 13U National World Series, which takes place in Des Moines, Iowa. Currently, the team is ranked number 10 in the nation and first in the state of Missouri.
The team's record holds now at 36-12, with two 14U tournament wins and three 16U tournament wins.
The Tanel organization has a year round training facility, The Zoo Athletic Training Center, which enables the girls to practice and condition year round which contributes to their success on the field as well as to keep up with their competitors.
On August 3, the Tanel Organization will be having try outs at the Camdenton City Ball-fields for all ages. 8U to 12U will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while 13U to 18U will hold their tryouts from noon to 3 p.m.
