Despite 5 days of frantic searching in Penn and the surrounding area little Benji has not been found. He seems to have vanished without a trace. He is just a little white dog dragging his leash. One would think someone would have seen him or heard him barking, if he were trapped somewhere. But there has been not one clue to his whereabouts. All of us at Uffda are very concerned, but none more than Don Schell. He feels dreadful about the incident which caused the dog to flee in fright. You see Don had just arrived home with Benji and was taking him for a walk around Penn. He accidently dropped the leash handle on the pavement and the noise startled Benji causing him to dash away in fright.
Benji had spent the previous 3 weeks living with his sister Dixie at the veterinary clinic where he had the run of the place. His previous life is a mystery as he and Dixie were found as strays near Cando. He responded to "come" and other basic commands very well. So, after leaving familiar people, pets and place it's no surprise that he would feel insecure in new surroundings. But one would think he would have surfaced by now if he were at liberty to do so. Perhaps someone has found Benji and decided to keep the dog. If that is the case, and Benji is safe we would all feel a measure of relief. That is why Don is offering a $50 reward for information about Benji's location. Anyone who might have seen the dog is asked to contact Don Schell at (701) 393-4351. He really wants his little boy home safe and sound.
