It is the fourth of July weekend at the lake and in order to enjoy this traditional holiday to its fullest, The Lake Sun has compiled a list of the most All-American activities for locals and tourists.
When one thinks of the fourth of July, food is always involved, right?! You can start with the "world famous" chili cheese dog from the Cree-Mee in Eldon or a speciality burger from Dog Days in Osage Beach. You can finish your meal with an ice-cream cone, banana split or root-beer float from the Eldon Drive-In or any ice-cream shop around the lake.
If you would rather stay close to home, cooking out and enjoy a game of horseshoes, backyard volleyball or an old fashion game of tag could be your perfect celebration. Stop by one of the lake's farmer's markets on Saturday morning to get your fresh fruits and veggies for your cook-out.
After the eating is done, it is time to play. What is more All-American than an arcade? Stop by the Bagnell Dam Strip and play skee-ball at the Dogpatch Arcade. Then play a game of mini-golf or take a ride in a go-cart at one of the many courses and tracks in the area. If you are a more adventerous type, you can try your hand at disc golf at one of the many disc golf courses around the lake.
Ready to cool off? Take a dip in the lake at one of the local beaches open to the public. Renting a boat or heading out on your own is also a great way to chill out and refresh.
Top off your all-American summer with nothing else than fireworks. Stop by a firework stand near you or watch a local firework show by land or water.

Have a safe and happy fourth of July!
