The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is a novel by Robert A. Heinlein that deals with moon colonization and a colonial revolt (of sorts). It specifically deals with the problem of governing a lunar colony. If the moon is colonized by civilians, who is in charge of keeping the peace? Is it a governing democratic order, or a centralized authoritative power of some sort? Because as any population grows, crime will become an issue to deal with, it’s just human nature. More importantly, what happens when the general population believes that this governing power is corrupt?
