Two people from Memphis, Mo. were killed in a two-car wreck Sunday afternoon.
Two people from Memphis, Mo. were killed in a two-car wreck Sunday afternoon. Christopher VanHoozen, 40, and Cynthia VanHoozen, 38, were riding on a 2002 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Highway 54 in Miller County when a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Elva Farris, 77, of Olean, Mo., crossed the eastbound lanes of Highway 54 in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle struck the side of the SUV, ejecting both VanHoozens from the vehicle. Both VanHoozens were pronounced dead at the scene by Miller County Coroner Rick Callahan before being taken to Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Farris was injured in the crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report indicated all three people were wearing safety devices. . These are Troop F's sixth and seventh fatalities in June and 14th and 15th of 2013.
