Remembered for strong work ethic
David T. Dennis, age 52, of Gravois Mills, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield. He was born December 13, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa a son of Ronald and Shirley Hanna Dennis.
On October 24, 1981, in Versailles, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Trish Harlow Dennis.
David moved to the lake area when he was a young boy. There, he enjoyed operating heavy equipment most of his life. He was a hard worker and always kept busy working on many various projects. In his spare time, he enjoyed drag boat racing and barbequing.
He was a member of The Door in Laurie and also SLDBA (St. Louis Drag Boat Association).
In addition to his wife, Trish, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David Keith and Amanda Dennis of Gravois Mills; his parents, Ronald and Shirley Dennis of Eldon; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Denise Dennis of Laurie; sister, Holly Danner of Eldon; niece, Cassie Lapp and husband Chris; niece, Stephanie Danner and fiancé Brian Lute; niece, Alyssa Danner; and great-nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, July 1st, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Pastor Jerry Piker officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Beulah Cemetery near Barnett with Erwin Henson, Paul Irwin, C.F. Huff, Troy Glenn, Denny Gramke and Barry Campbell serving as casketbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Monday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, P.O.
