  • Kansas man drowns near Monarch Cove

  • The Lake of the Ozarks recorded its third drowning of the year Saturday when a Mission, Kan., man fell from a dock and failed to return to the surface, according to the Water Patrol Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

  • The Lake of the Ozarks recorded its third drowning of the year Saturday when a Mission, Kan., man fell from a dock and failed to return to the surface, according to the Water Patrol Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
    Carl P. Migliazzo, 48, was pronounced dead by Camden County Coroner Dee Ballard about 12:50 p.m. The incident occurred about 11:45 a.m. in Monarch Cove at the 1.7-mile marker of the Main Channel.
    •Paula L. Murphy, 50, of Columbia, was moderately injured in boating accident about 5:24 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the 4-mile marker of the Main Channel. She was taken to Lake Regional Hospital.
    The accident occurred when the 1998 Baja driven by Billy J. Stewart, 47, of Columbia, struck a large wake causing Murphy to be thrown from her seat.
    •Floyd L. Mezo, 47, Edwardsville, Ill., was seriously injured in a father-son PWC accident about 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the 6.5 mile-marker of the Main Channel near Imperial Point.
    He was taken to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance.
    The accident occurred as Joseph A. Mezo, 17, of Edwardsville, was driving a 2000 Sea Doo PWC and attempted to pull alongside a 2013 Sea Doo driven by his father, Floyd, and lost control, running over the top of the elder Mezo’s PWC.
