The seventh annual Jay-Day will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, at the Lake Ozark Fire District headquarters on Bagnell Dam Blvd.
Sponsored by the Lake Ozark Fire District, Jay-Day is dedicated to the memory of Jayden Ling who died seven years ago in a house fire while trying to save her grandmother.
Jay-Day is designed to teach students, parents and others about fire safety and awareness at home and away from home, especially while visiting family and friends in an unfamiliar setting.
This is a significant year since Jayden would have graduated with the class of 2013.
July 11 is also the birthday of the grandmother that died in the fire.
The day will include training, lunch, a bouncy house, and then a trip to Dogpatch on the Strip for skee-ball, watermelon, entertainment, the haunted house, a cruise on Tom Sawyer and a balloon send-off.
State Fire Marshall Randy Cole will also be attending.
Everything is free, and the public is invited. For more information, go towww.jayday7-11.org.
