On May 10, my husband, Robert Funke, was in a medical crisis and we immediately went to Lake Regional Hospital. From the moment we entered the ER until he was released four weeks later, we experienced outstanding care and service.
Being longtime residents of 32 years, we have had varying opinions of the health care offered by our local hospital. In recent years, we have had personal friends who selected our hospital for many different medical needs from heart, to cancer to general surgery. I want to assure you, we will be taking our family members to this hospital in all future needs. Research tells us that people experiencing bad service will relate their experience to 13 people, and that a person experiencing good service may relate their experience to one other person. Lake Regional Hospital has outstanding doctors, nurses and extended services employees.
Some of the many outstanding people include Dr. Leidig, ER; Dr. John Patton, our general surgeon; Dr. Jeff Jones, orthopedic surgeon; David Burkhold, hospitalist; Dr. Wang, oncology. In the 2 east wing: Sandy, Jessie and Dana. In surgery: Steve and Lori. In ICU: Jennifer and Stacey. In ER: LaRae. In physical therapy: Katy. In skin care: Teresa. In oncology: Susan, Melissa, Diedra and Jeanette. Social work: Jamie. SNF: Christy, Christina and Barb. Outstanding housekeeping ladies were Roberta and Paula.
It takes a team to give a hospital an outstanding reputation. It's time our hospital is recognized for the care it gives our citizens. We have the qualified doctors, nurses and support personnel at Lake Regional Hospital.
We got straight information on what the hospital could provide and information on other facilities where they cannot provide specific expertise. Our thanks to all who made Bob's critical care better than we ever expected.
