The 35th Annual HK’s Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament, benefiting Lake Regional Health System, concluded June 9 at The Cove golf course. The tournament featured more than $100,000 in prizes available for participants, including pro shop certificates awarded to the top four teams in each flight, sponsored by Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks, and a $10,000 putting contest, sponsored by Bank Star.
Although the morning round was canceled because of rain, golfers completed the afternoon round. The first place afternoon A-flight team was Rocky Corpe, Sean Paul, Tom Roof and Anthony Wilkinson; first place B-flight team was Jim Divine, Dennis Harper, Carl Hastings and Steve Hastings. Closest to the pin prizes also were awarded on five holes. Morning round prize winners were selected by random drawing. Complete tournament results, as well as photos of the event, are available online at HKsGolf.com.
Other tournament events included a VIP/Celebrity Party for sponsors June 7 and a Pairing Party and Silent/Live Auction on June 8. Both events were held at The Lodge of Four Seasons.
The Annual HK’s Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament — traditionally held the first weekend in June — was established by Harold Koplar, founder of The Lodge of Four Seasons. Throughout its history, it has earned in excess of $2.5 million for Lake Regional medical departments and the purchase of new medical equipment. This year, all proceeds will help Lake Regional Health System expand its Sleep Medicine program. Plans include adding two rooms to the Sleep Lab and purchasing the latest technology for monitoring sleep patterns and equipment for home studies.
“Thanks to the community for their tremendous support again this year,” said Terri Hall, Lake Regional director of Fund Development. “We could not be successful without our generous sponsors, donors, golfers and volunteers.”
Hall also thanked the event co-chairs Susan Brown, Peter Brown Jr. and Cecilia Thomson; Honorary Co-Chair Walter White; Honorary Chair Chase Daniel; and the Kansas City Chiefs Ambassadors.
