Served in France during WWII

Nelson Anthony Ziegler, 90, of Camdenton, Missouri, formerly of Worth, Illinois, passed away peacefully June 16, 2013.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Rose Ida Ziegler (nee Stark), his third child, Richard Lee, and six siblings.

Nelson is survived by his children, William (Cheri) Ziegler; Peggy (Gary) Kling; Diane (Thomas) Stiers; Janet (Dale) Lear; his twins, Rosemary Christine and John (Carol) Ziegler; his baby Raymond (Karen – d) Ziegler; and one sister, Mary Handing . He also leaves behind a legacy of 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren!

Nelson was a proud veteran of WWII, serving as a medic’s aide in France. An active member of the Knights of Columbus, he attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Camdenton. Rose & Nelson’s ashes will be joined for eternity at their gravesite on Monday, June 24, 2013 – an appropriate union on the 67th anniversary of their wedding vows.

Services will be held Sunday June 23, 2013 at St Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton at 1:00 p.m. family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Inurment will be Monday June 24, 2013 at 10:00 at Hedges Cemetery with Military Honors handled by Zack Wheat Post 624.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local American Legion Post or the Knights of Columbus - Lake of the Ozarks Council 6365.
