Morgan County parents and guardians must register by July 12 for their children to participate in the 13th Annual Morgan County Back to School Health Fair.
The fair will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 at Morgan County R-II School in Versailles.
To register, call Family Support Division at 573-378-4681 or Morgan County Health at 573-378-5438. An adult must accompany the children on the day of the fair.
It is open to all children who live in the county. Any child/parent of a child who lives or goes to school whether public, private or home-schooled may participate. There are no income guidelines for participating.
The fair focuses on school readiness through critical health screenings that enable
families to address health issues that might prohibit school attendance or prevent optimum participation or performance in their classes. Any child/parent of a child who lives or goes to school (public/private/homeschooled) may participate. Screenings are completed by medical and community volunteers.
Children are screened for hearing, dental, scoliosis, blood pressure/heart rate, height, weight, immunizations, vision and head checks. Lice treatment is provided for all family members, if needed.
School supplies as required by their school and teacher are provided following the screenings. Tissues and hand sanitizer are provided to the schools if funding is available.
The fair is a program of the Morgan County Caring for Kids Coalition. Around 500 children are expected to be screened and provided with school supplies at a cost of approximately $30 per child.
Make a donation to help cover the costs.
To donate, mail checks payable to MCCKC: P.O. Box 392, Versailles, MO 65084.
