  • The Village of Four Seasons Board of Trustees continues to make improvements to its recently expanded Village Hall.
    Trustees Wednesday night voted to spend up to $1,300 to cover costs of building an office wall partition just outside of the trustees’ meeting chambers. The open area is used by several people to conduct office business, but some semblance of privacy is needed. Cost for materials will be $577 with labor of $450. Painting is estimated at $200.
    Trustees voted two years ago to expand the Village Hall, and have since tweaked the project as funds have become available. Window treatments are the next order of business for the meeting room.
     
    Audit
    Evers & Company, LLC, recently conducted a routine audit of the city’s finances.
    The only significant recommendation, which has been completed, involved how Municipal Court fines are recorded. Evers suggested that when fines don’t meet the standards of the fine schedule that the amount to be documented in the files verify the amount the judge set.
    The audit also noted that because the city’s small size, adequate administrative and accounting staff is not available to conduct certain financial reporting. The city uses independent auditors to draft the financial statements.
    This situation is typical of small communities such as the Village, Lake Ozark and Osage Beach.
     
    Other business
    •The board learned that building permits and permit revenue are up about 10 percent from a year ago.
    •The board learned that repair of several Waters Edge Condominium units damaged by fire last year is in limbo until project managers and the Waters Edge Condo Association work out several issue.
    •There will be a meeting with lake-area contractors at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at the Village Hall to review changes in building codes since 2009. Ameren Missouri officials are expected to discuss dock regulations, and the Four Seasons Property Owners Association (POA) is expected to discuss several issues as well.
    •Ranita Jones, who with her husband coordinates flag placements in the Horseshoe Bend area during holidays, said thieves continue to steel two or three flags each holiday. She hopes to use donated money to expand the flag effort, but uses the funds for replacement instead.
