Kent Memorial Lutheran Church is inviting the community to give blood and salute a veteran at an upcoming blood drive it is hosting for Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO).
The blood drive will be held from 1:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, June 14 in the Fellowship Hall at the church in Sunrise Beach.
All negative blood types are especially needed right now as stocks are low with less than a two day supply on hospital shelves.
CBCO provides blood to 38 hospitals in the region and needs more than 275 donations every day to meet the needs.
Participants are encouraged to dedicate their donation to a veteran or current soldier.
A free cholesterol screening will be provided at the blood drive. There will be a free gift for all participants as well.
Bring photo identification to the drive. Eat and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood.
