  • On Wednesday, June 5, I was on my way home on Route MM and was hit by a very large deer. My windshield shattered, roof dented and glass shards were everywhere in my car. Luckily the way the deer hit, I was not hurt. I had a large bump on my arm, but pretty much just really shook up.
A few moments after it happened, a couple stopped and knocked on my window to see if I was okay. They stayed with me the entire time….before the Fire Dept. and M.H.P. Officer.
I remember the gentleman called 911 for me, gave me water and a shirt to help brush the glass off of me. They were complete strangers and I wish I had gotten their phone number to let them know how grateful I am for what they did.
I think I asked him his name, but I was so shook up, I don't remember. Anyway, a huge thank you to those two special people that helped me out. (Thank you Sergeant Cody, M.H.P., for calling a tow truck for me.) Also, a huge thanks to the Sunrise Beach Fire Dept. (again, I don't remember the names) who were also wonderful to help me out of the rain and wait until I saw that wonderful familiar face come to pick me up and take me home. Thank you David for taking such good care of me.
P.S. I always wanted to ride in a fire truck, but not in this situation! Thanks to all involved.
